{"id":31,"date":"2025-05-27T11:45:24","date_gmt":"2025-05-27T11:45:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/plasticnarratives.no\/?page_id=31"},"modified":"2025-05-29T10:40:41","modified_gmt":"2025-05-29T10:40:41","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/plasticnarratives.no\/index.php\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The research collective &#8220;Plastic Narratives&#8221; was established in 2025 by <strong>Fabrizio Leone<\/strong>,<strong> Natalia Skripnikova<\/strong>, and <strong>Matthew Anderson<\/strong>. The objective of the initiative is to foster interdisciplinary dialogue on the global plastics crisis, independent of the participants&#8217; respective affiliations, and to start up pilot research projects with promising societal impact at the intersection of diplomacy, innovation, and local action. By combining social sciences and artistic research, the &#8220;Plastic Narratives&#8221; collective aims to raise awareness on the global plastics crisis through artistic exhibitions, publications, panels, and public events in Norway and internationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Who are we<\/summary>\n<p><strong>Fabrizio Leone<\/strong> is a Senior Advisor at the Norwegian Customs Agency. His previous experience includes roles with the Norwegian Red Cross, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the World Food Programme. With a diverse background in the public sector, non-governmental organizations, and international institutions, Fabrizio has provided strategic advice, conducted evaluations of public policies, and contributed to analyses and reports, including on legal and political issues.&nbsp;For the \u201cPlastic Narratives\u201d collective, Fabrizio brings his expertise in public policy and insight in the transnational flows of plastic waste, an emerging issue in customs works. He holds an M.Sc. in Computer Science from Stockholm University, a M.A. in International Relations from the Free University of Brussels (ULB) and an LL.M. in EU Law at the European School of Law and Governance.<br><br><strong>Natalia Skripnikova <\/strong>works as an Expert in Environmental Governance at GRID-Arendal. She gained professional experience from international organisations such as the Council of the Baltic Sea States, the United Nations University\u2014CRIS, and the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe. Natalia effectively translates scientific knowledge into policy processes in order to provide actionable and evidence-driven solutions that address complex environmental challenges and inform sustainable decision-making. To the \u201cPlastic Narratives\u201d Natalia contributes with the experience as an Observer to the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee on Plastic Pollution and a co-lead of \u201cPlastics &amp; Climate Change\u201d portfolio at GRID-Arendal.<br><br><strong>Matthew Anderson<\/strong> is assistant professor in architecture at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design, and director of Steinlia &#8211; an architectural practice. Through teaching, research and practice he investigates new directions for the discipline of architecture, translating conceptual positions from the field of environmental humanities into practical action. Matthew focuses on aesthetic experience of architecture and the environment, specifically human sensuous experience of ecology, materials &#8211; their flows and life-cycles, and space.&nbsp;Matthew brings to the \u201cPlastic Narratives\u201d research collective his experience with both plastics in construction and the ways humans sense materials and the environment.
